Will you allow and dance through the change?
By Radmila Abram-October 14, 2018
Change is inescapable. Each moment in our life we change on many different levels. All of us have experienced small or big alterations in our lives. Transformation is a law of nature. Yet, we still get surprised, resist and do everything possible to stay where we think we are supposed to be.
At the same time we hear a whisper, a voice from the inside that calls us to make a choice and walk in a different direction. We find ourselves asking questions: “Why now?” “What do I need to do? “What do I need to give up?” We want to figure everything out with a clear outcome, instantly.
Look at the seasons. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the abundance of rich colors, the harvest and the smell of roasted chestnuts. It takes me back to a time when all seemed to flow naturally.
Trees start changing colors, from green to intense shades of orange, yellow and red. Hints of brown emerge, and then one day we notice bare branches. The crisp air and wind remind us that it is time to prepare, slow down and rest.
It seems that trees embrace this process with grace and allow their bare branches to be completely seen. It is a time for completion, celebration and gratitude.
As we gather the last flowers, vegetables and herbs, we find ourselves experiencing sadness. It is the saying of goodbye to all summer fun. Here in the Midwest winter might arrive without warning: one day could be in the upper eighties and the next day we might wake up to snow flurries.
Where are you in your process of change? Is it gentle or rough? Do you hear a whisper or is the call loud and you cannot ignore it anymore? Are you enjoying all the colors in your own life? Are you ready to be seen for who you really are?
No matter where you are in your life, acknowledge it. You might take a walk in nature; or pick up a journal and some art supplies. Or you could just sit and listen to what is calling you.
My wish to the world is to create change and beauty in the lives of others from a place of greater compassion. If change is what is calling and you need support, contact me.
Allow dance to lead you through the process of change in a natural, gentle and peaceful way.
