HEALING ART COUNSELING
A space to explore, connect & grow.
Therapy for children, teens & young adults in Reston, VA
Our approach
We work to incorporate a curious and holistic perspective with clients, and focusing on building healthy relationships within which we can explore ourselves, others, and how we relate to them. Through a blend of the person-centered perspective, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tools, child centered play therapy (CCPT), and an introspective approach we aim to conecpetualize and heal the whole person through a lens of understanding & acceptance.
Therapy starts with curiosity.
There isn't one right way to heal.
Becca approaches therapy with curiosity, warmth and an understanding that our thoughts, emotions, relationships and bodies are deeply connected.
Whether through conversation, play or movement, therapy is a space to better understand yourself, build meaningful connections and discover ways of moving through life that feel more authentically you.

Meet Becca
Hi, I'm Becca Leslie, LPC.
I believe some of the most meaningful work in therapy happens when you feel comfortable enough to be fully yourself.
My approach is warm, curious and relational. I work with children, teens and young adults to better understand themselves, navigate difficult experiences and build more meaningful relationships with themselves and others.
I'm especially interested in the connection between mind and body, and my work draws from Child-Centered Play Therapy, DBT, relational and person-centered approaches, mindfulness, and my background as a yoga teacher.
And while therapy can involve difficult things, I also believe there's room for humor, creativity, play and being human along the way.
When I'm not working, I'm usually happiest outside hiking, camping, climbing, swimming paddleboarding or reading and attempting to pet every dog (and cat!) I meet.
What we can explore together
Therapy can help with a wide range of challenges and life experiences. Here are some of the areas we might work on together.
Trauma & PTSD
Depression
Emotional Regulation
Self-Harm
Relationships
Identity & Self-Esteem
ADHD & Autism
Anxiety
Healing isn't only about what's happening in your head
MIND + BODY
Our emotions and experiences live in our bodies, too. Sometimes talking helps us understand what's happening and sometimes movement, breath and body awareness can help us experience it differently.
Drawing from my background as a yoga teacher, I may incorporate mindfulness, movement and body awareness into therapy when it feels helpful and comfortable for you.
I also offer therapeutic yoga as a dedicated space for exploring the connection between emotional wellbeing and the body.
READY WHEN YOU ARE
Curious if we might be a good fit?
Finding the right therapist matters. Reach out to ask a question, learn more, or see if working together feels right.
Providing you with a safe space to explore
Explore your perspective, how past events and stories impact you, present interpretations and feelings, as well as alterntaive ways to conceptualize those events. Maybe even consider reconsidering those stories if they no longer serve you in your day to day…
In-person and remote options
In person is always best for anyone in high school or younger. If in college or above, perhaps virtual sessions may be a better fit for your busy lifestyle.
